Dr. Terrance J. O'Keefe D.D.S

"We continue to strive for technical excellence, while not losing sight of what is really important...you!"

Meet our Staff

To achieve great results you must have great people… and we do!

Of course we have years of dental experience giving us our technical expertise, but we also have life experiences for the human touch! We want to get to know us, so you can become comfortable with us as people.

We may have common experiences that we can talk about. Then when we get to know each other you may actually be able to relax at the dental office. We’ve made people laugh, relax and sometimes-even fall asleep.

So use these pages to get to know us.

Lynn

Hello, my name is Lynn. I am a native of New York City, I’ve worked in the dental field for a better part of the last three decades. My husband and I moved to Penfield in 1992 with our son Pete (at eight, he was just way too young to carry a mortgage on his own), and our daughter, Alex, was born shortly thereafter. Alex is now a sophomore at Penfield High, while Pete is Webmaster at Keuka College.

It’s been my privilege to work with Dr. O’Keefe, the tooth fairies, and all of our patients for the past six years, and I look forward to many more years to come.

In my free time, I enjoy gardening, spending time with my family, and listening to what my kids call “cheesey 70’s hippie soft rock.”

Chris

Hello! My name is Christine, and I am Dr. O'Keefe's Dental Assistant. I have worked with Dr. O'Keefe for almost 15 years, and truly enjoy my job! I would like to share a little bit about myself you with you.

I was born in Albany, New York. My Dad was an engineer and we move ALOT so I was forever going to a new school! It sure helped me get over my shyness! We moved to Fairport when I was a sophomore in high school, and I have lived there ever since. No more moving for me! I graduated from Fairport High School and was voted "Best Personality" in my senior year, so I guess I did overcome that shyness! I had braces when I was a teenager and was always intrigued by the workings of my orthodontist's office. I decided that the ''tooth business" was for me! I graduated from Rochester Dental Assistant's School in 1973, and have worked in this field ever since, except for the 13 years I was a stay- at- home mom when my children were young. The changes and technology in dentistry over the years have been fascinating to witness! Our office is state of the art, patient care is always foremost in our minds, and I am very proud to be a part Dr. O’Keefe’s team.

I am extremely fortunate to be married to a wonderful man named Larry he truly is my better half, soul-mate, and best friend. He has had many health problems over the past 16 years, including open heart surgery, but it has only made us stronger and more appreciative of our many blessings.

Our family is growing by leaps and bounds! Our son Jay, is 33. After obtaining a degree in business and working in that field for several years, he decided to follow his heart, and is now a career fire fighter for the S1. Paul Fire District in Irondequoit, as well as a volunteer fireman for Fairport. He & our daughter in law Sarah, and our two granddaughters Grace and Maggie, live about 10 minutes from us! Being grandparents has GOT to be one of life's BEST roles! Our daughter Carrie, who is 27, learned how to gallop on all fours BEFORE she learned how to walk! She has been riding horses, taking lessons and competing in horse shows, and living and breathing NOTHING but horses since she was 5 years old. She graduated from the University of Kentucky w/a degree in Equine Business Management, and works for a world renowned thoroughbred horse farm. She got married in June of 2007 to a fellow horseman, Randy Gilbert.

We are now empty nesters, but are enjoying this latest stage of our lives to the fullest! In my spare time I enjoy reading, gardening and baking and especially like sampling what comes out of my oven!! Larry and I enjoy poking around in antique stores, as we both have numerous things that we collect. 20 years ago we bought a little cabin in the woods near Keuka Lake our own little piece of Heaven, we think! We escape there every weekend we can, year-round, and find the slower paced, simpler lifestyle MUCH to our liking! The wildlife knows when we are "in residence" as we enjoy feeding them and photographing them! To us, there is nothing better than sitting on our deck surrounded by nature's beauty!

I hope you now know a little bit more about me. I TRULY enjoy meeting and getting to know each and every one of you!

Jessica

Hello, my name is Jessica. I am one of Dr. O'Keefe's dental hygienists. I work in the office part time. I started working for Dr. O'Keefe in 2007. The office is great and I enjoy working with a terrific team.

I am originally from Syracuse and have lived in the Rochester area since 2006. I graduated from Onondaga Community College an Associate's Degree in Dental Hygiene and Cortland State with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. My passions include my son Brady and my husband is Tim. I love spending all my free time with them. I enjoy any activity outside, summertime, swimming, running, traveling, Syracuse University sports, reading, eating, and yoga.

I look forward to taking care of you and getting to know you better!

Kathy

Hi, I’m Kathy. I’ve been working with Dr. O’Keefe since 2002, when I relocated from Connecticut to Rochester. I have been a Hygienist for over 20 years, and I have always enjoyed giving people bright smiles!

I grew up in New Jersey, and went to the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut, which was the very first school for dental hygiene in the country. I lived in Connecticut for 12 years before moving to Rochester.

I have 2 sons, Dan and Brian, who are becoming teenagers and supplying all the fun that comes with teenage boys! I enjoy traveling, gardening, photography, skiing, and walking my dog Lucy.

Lynda

Hi, I’m Lynda and I’ve been working at Dr. O’Keefe practice since May 2008. I assist our associate Dentist, Dr. Roland. Working along with the staff has been great. It’s nice coming to work amongst friends.

I completed my schooling for Dental Assisting while living in Kingsport Tennessee, and worked there for two years before returning to New York to marry my High School sweetheart. My husband and I have combined our families and we enjoy our 5 children. We have found great pleasure in being grandparents to 3 beautiful grandchildren.

My life is kept busy keeping up with the demands of family life along with my own interests which include … teaching piano lesions, running my own candy business (works well with Dentistry – doesn’t it?), and volunteer work with teenage young women.

Joanne

Hi, my name is Joanne and I am delighted to be invited to join Dr. O’Keefe’s team.

After living on Long island for eleven years, we are very happy to have relocated to Rochester. I was born and raised in Buffalo. During 27 years of marriage, my husband’s career has moved us a few times. We love and missed Western New York and are happy to be closer to our family.

Sometimes it was difficult while raising two daughters with a husband who traveled for work 3 weeks out of 4. I must have been a glutton for punishment deciding to return to school to pursue Dental Hygiene. I graduated from Erie Community College with my Dental Hygiene degree in 1994 and I still love what I do! There is always so much to learn which makes dentistry so exciting. I love the patient contact and relationship building.

Yes, happy to be in Rochester, cold and all. It felt great this winter to be able to see all the snow and watch people ice fish. I plan to enjoy cross-country and downhill skiing … beginning on the bunny hill of course! I enjoy shopping, cooking, reading, yoga and bike riding.

I love my job as I get to help people learn how to keep their best asset, THEIR SMILE!
